FINDING THEM ON THOUSAND MILES OF ROAD I – THE FIRST CHARITY JOURNEY IN HA DONG, GIA LAI

On January 1, 2023, when many people were still enjoying the first days of the new year with their families, the Group of Kind Hearts started the year 2023 with a charity trip to Ha Dong, Dak Doa district, Gia Lai province. This is also the first program to open the charity journey named "Finding Them On Thousand Miles Of Road" – a series of activities to support children in highland areas and difficult households in the Central Highlands.

The first trip did not start with professionalism or perfect preparation, but started with ordinary people carrying a heart that wants to share with poor and remote children.

The first charity trip with many difficulties but full of love

At that time, the group did not have much experience in organizing highland charity programs. Everything was still new, from planning, preparing gifts, transporting goods to organizing activities in the locality.

The shortcomings and difficulties are unavoidable. The road to Ha Dong, Gia Lai was not easy with many far and bumpy roads. However, the deeper we go into the village, the more people look forward to meeting the children here.

When we arrived, all the fatigue seemed to disappear. Before our eyes were the innocent eyes of the children, the smiles that were still shy but warm and affectionate. It was those simple moments that made everyone understand that this trip was truly meaningful.

Cooking and giving gifts to over 500 children with disabilities in Gia Lai

In conditions of scarcity, the group members worked together to prepare a charitable meal for the local children and people. Some picked vegetables, some cooked, and some arranged the gifts, all joining hands with the desire to bring a fulfilling day to the children here.

In the "Finding You on the Road I" program, the group organized cooking and gift-giving for over 500 children, students, and more than 100 underprivileged families in Ha Dong, Dak Doa, Gia Lai.

Each gift given by hand not only carries material value but also contains emotions and sharing from the people who implement the program. There are small children who hug the gifts with happy eyes, there are adults who just nod in silence to thank, but their eyes reflect the excitement of gratitude.

The "Finding You On Every Road" journey started from compassion

Looking back, that first trip may still have many incomplete things. But it was those shortcomings and initial experiences that became valuable lessons for the Group of Kindness to continue improving and developing subsequent charity programs.

"Finding You On Every Road" did not start from something too grand. The program originated from compassion, from empathy for the difficult circumstances of children in the highlands of Tay Nguyen.

The first day of 2023 was not only the day the group brought love to a distant village, but also the day that opened a long-term charity program - a program of sharing, connecting, and spreading kindness to the community.

And also from that day on, people understand that: even when the most meaningful thing is not about giving as much as you can, but about starting to give.
